Colorado Mule Deer Hunting | MULE DEER DOWN! | EP 3
Просмотров 9283 года назад
After several nights of sleeping in negative temperatures, we felt like we had began to get a better understanding of the area we were hunting and where most of the deer were hanging out. Like we had in days prior, we spent a lot of time behind the optics looking at different deer. We were regretting passing up two nice bucks on the first morning and were beginning to feel the self-imposed pres...

Out in the Edwards county, Patton went on a solo whitetail hunt and managed to self-film an action packed morning. Being that aoudad have a skull and horns designed to protect themselves when fighting one another, these rams have no problems l...
CHASING SCREAMING BULLS | Our Last Chance at Elk | Episode 4
Просмотров 4113 года назад
At this point in the trip, we had been on elk every day and been able to make some sort of play on them. As luck would have it, we'd been able to hike the same ridge every morning and traverse to different valleys that were holding different herds. We ended up calling this ridge the 'death ridge' as it included 4 separate areas that involved high incline and heavy shale. It was steep enough tha...
CHASING SCREAMING BULLS | The Elk are Everywhere! | Episode 3
Просмотров 6413 года назад
As the moonlight faded, we found ourselves on the morning of Day 5 in the elk woods. Like the previous days of hunting, we made our way up the mountain in hopes of locating the elk we had been on each day prior. Too our surprise, the elk had been out in the early afternoon hours on south facing slopes. We had anticipated that they would stay on north facing slopes in dark timber and needed to a...

Back in the elk again! On our 5th day of hunting, we started the morning off by hiking back to the truck for a much needed resupply. We hadn't planned on staying in the same area for such a long time, but we were consistently on elk every day and everybody knows you don't leave elk to find elk. After loading on on more food and water, we head back up our main spine ridge to get above the elk to...

    Making my first venison loaf. My dad shot at least 6 deer this year and the family ground some burger. I wanted o know your thoughts on adding oil to the loaf? I'm not sure I should but I know it's a lean meat. I've been making deer steaks for years but I'm nervous about the loaf and the venison roast lol. Thank you for helping me make my first venison loaf.

    Great video! If you have a water filter do you also need to use the drops as well? Or is the filter alone sufficient. I've gotten conflicting information on that, like the drops are for viruses and the filter is only for particulates.

      Wild game is safe. If you over cook then it will be tough and taste not as good. Cook like he said you won’t be disappointed. Remember it’s wild and the fat content is very low so over cooking ruins it.

  • @joakos1122
    @joakos1122 2 года назад

    The worst part is they are still threatened in many states, their hunting is controversial among wildlife managers. still losing ground even in Texas. If everyone started hunting them their populations would start plummeting fast. This is hard to imagine but the passenger pigeon was the most numerous bird in the world just 100 years ago now it’s extinct. The endangered whooping crane is often killed by mistake because they are hard to discern on a cloudy day. They are not overpopulated and their numbers can be used to repopulate other states when they suffer casualties due to storms or oil spills. They are valuable alive and help bring 400 million in eco tourism dollars to my home town (Mcallen) from bird watchers and photographers. They are prey of Bald Eagle which are still pretty rare themselves So many reasons not to hunt them, only one reason to hunt them: rib-eye of the sky!
